Joshua, the founder of Henzo, is a management professional with over 10 years of CEO level experience in the property, insurance, investment management and advisory sectors in Kenya.
Joshua was among the pioneering Kenyans to be awarded the CFA Charter, considered the gold standard in investment management. He holds an MBA Finance, from the University of Nairobi and graduated at the top of his class in BA Land Economics (property management and valuation) from the same university. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in Kenya.
Before founding Henzo and in his previous role as the Managing Director of a leading Insurance Company in Kenya, Joshua oversaw a significant growth of the Company and significantly improved its brand position. He sat in Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) Board, the AKI Life Companies Council and was also a member of the Insurance Training and Education Trust (I.T.E.T) Public Relations Committee of the Board.
Prior to joining the Insurance industry, Joshua worked in investment management and was at one time responsible for the investment strategy of assets in excess of US$ 1 billion. He has also worked in corporate finance advisory (at Deloitte and Standard chartered securities) where he advised companies’ governments and government related entities in East, South and West Africa. He started his career as a valuer at the Nairobi City Council (now county government of Nairobi).
Bernadette Wanjiru Njoroge
Senior Auditor & Financial Analyst
Bernadette is an astute and experienced Auditor having worked in the healthcare and banking sectors, respectively, for a period of 17 years.
Bernadette holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Nairobi. and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (First Class Honours), from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK.
Bernadette started her career in the healthcare sector working at the largest referral hospital in East and Central Africa, as an auditor and senior auditor. She was involved in enhancing financial reporting processes at the hospital to ensure soundness in internal controls and ensure adherence to the laid down processes and procedure. She later moved to the Central Bank of Kenya as a financial analyst and was eventually promoted to a management position. Her key duty was to ensure that banks adhered to the laid down regulatory requirements.
In both roles, Bernadette utilized her expertise to develop risk based audit plans, audit programs, audit reports and to ensure that audit recommendations were adopted by auditees. She was also involved in reviewing bank policies and procedures and in guiding the banks on enhancing the same. Bernadette is acknowledged as an enthusiastic communicator with demonstrated ability to train auditors and other staff on best practices.
Frank Muchiri
Strategist and Management Expert
Mr. Muchiri holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) degree from the University of Nairobi, an (MBA) in Strategic Management from Strathmore Business School, ACII, ACI Arb, London, and American Management Associate Strategic Planning.
He is a highly qualified strategist and management organization expert, who has successfully run blue chip enterprises in the past 20 years. He holds several directorships in the public and private sectors and is the is the chairman and founder member of Strategy Centre Africa, an entity that advises on matters strategy, in addition to other services.
